​The main purpose of this PhD project is to carry out the hydrogeological study of the mineral waters of the Furnas volcano, emphasizing the behavior of the metal ions and the ⁸⁷Sr/⁸⁶Sr ratio. This investigation aims to complement the existing geochemical database, in order to fully characterize elemental fluxes in an active volcanic environment, contributing to better constraining the hydrothermal system in Furnas Volcano, and in the Azores in general.
