Gian Marco Marmoni

Gian Marco Marmoni holds the role of Temporary Researcher (RTDa) at the Department of Earth Sciences of the Sapienza University of Rome. In 2014 he obtained a master's degree in Geology Applied to Engineering, Territory and Risks with a grade of 110/110 cum laude, obtaining, in the same year, the professional qualification as a Geologist. In 2018 he obtained the European Research Doctorate in Earth Sciences at the Sapienza University of Rome with a thesis entitled: "Multiphysical modeling for thermo-mechanical behavior of rock masses in slope-scale gravitational dynamics" (Supervisor Prof. Salvatore Martino). During his doctorate, he carried out a research experience as a visiting PhD student at the Rock Physics Laboratory of the University of Strasbourg under the scientific guidance of Prof. Michael Heap, where he increased his knowledge and skills in Rock Mechanics, characterizing the behavior of porous tuffs under conditions of high temperatures and low pressures. From 2018 to 2023 he was a Post-doc Research Fellow in Applied Geology at the Department of Earth Sciences of the Sapienza University of Rome. Since 2022 he has obtained the National Scientific Qualification as Associate Professor in the Italian higher education system for the disciplinary field 04/A3 - Engineering geology, physical geography and geomorphology.
