Annoucemment - Post-doc fellowship in Volcanology

1- According to the Regulation of Scientific Research and Management Support fellowships of the Fundação Gaspar Frutuoso (FGF), approved by the Fundação para a Ciência e Tecnologia, its taken to the knowledge of the interested participants that it’s open until the 24th of July, a call for a Postdoctoral grant position.

 

2- Are eligible the interested candidates who, until the end of the application period, have a Ph.D. in Volcanology, or related areas, giving preference to whom has formation and experience in the study of eruptive processes related with caldera forming events, particularly in field analysis and laboratorial treatment of volcanic deposits.

 

3- For the applications the following is required:

 

a) Documents proving that the candidate congregates the demandable conditions for the respective type of fellowship;
b) Curriculum Vitae;
c) Summary of the working program to develop;
d) Other documents that the candidate considers appropriate for appreciation.

 

4- The candidatures will be evaluated taking into account the merit of the candidate, its curriculum vitae and the working program presented.

 

5- The present fellowship holds the following conditions:

 

a) A monthly grant in the value of €1744 (a thousand seven hundred and forty four euros);
b) Celebration of a contract with the FGF, taking effect from day 1 of the following month to the one of the candidate selection, and with the duration of one year, eventually renewable to a maximum of 3 years, in accordance with the FGF Regulation of Scientific Research and Management Support Fellowships.
c) Elaboration of an annual report of activities

 

6- The position will be exert in the Centro de Vulcanologia e Avaliação de Riscos Geológicos da Universidade dos Açores, headquartered in the island of S. Miguel, Azores.

 

7- The applications must be formalized through request directed to the Director do Centro de Vulcanologia e Avaliação de Riscos Geológicos da Universidade dos Açores and sent by post or delivered in the Universidade dos Açores, Centro de Vulcanologia e Avaliação de Riscos Geológicos, Edifício do Complexo Científico, 3º Andar Ala – Sul, 9501-801 Ponta Delgada.
